Getting Started, and what to expect

Getting started on any change you’re trying to make in life is incredibly difficult, and can seem really overwhelming. That’s what I’m here for. I started doing personal training as a way to encourage you to make good choices in many different areas, in addition to helping you grown intrinsic motivation, giving you information I have learned along the way, and teaching you how change your body composition through diet and exercise. Each person is different, and it will take time and patience to learn what works for you and your own lifestyle.

Taking the jump is the hardest part. To prepare you for what to expect, here is a list of 5 things to keep in mind.

  1. 30 minute intake call: Once you’ve expressed your interest in beginning personal training, we will coordinate a phone call to go over your current movement habits, health status, general lifestyle, and your goals. We will also discuss pricing, package options, and find a structure that works for you.

  2. Schedule the first appointment. It may be handy to bring the following items.

    • Water

    • Snack like fruit, jerky, protein shake, etc. in case of blood sugar crash

    • Towel

    • Knee/elbow sleeves (If needed)

    • A blank note pad

  3. Download the “Trainerize” app by following the email link that should be sent to you (If not, contact me and I will send it). This app will be the record keeping software we will use to keep track of progress.

  4. Keep a journal. Can be the same note pad you bring to training, and jot down accomplishments, personal bests, or how you’re feeling after your workouts.

  5. Have fun! Lifestyle changes are hard to make, so lets try to keep a positive mindset about all the great things you’re doing for yourself. By making the first step, you’re already planting the seeds for a healthy future.

I hope you decide to take this on for yourself, and remember, I’m here to support you in any way I can for you to make more good choices every single day.
